To some, the elegant teapot with the model number “503” visually resembles a lotus bud; to others, it is more reminiscent of Aladdin’s magic lamp. Employees at the Marwitz Ceramics Manufactory therefore affectionately call the 503 the “Dschinni” teapot. With its dimensions (19 centimeters wide and 11.5 centimeters tall) and a capacity of 1.25 liters, the 750-gram teapot is already among Hedwig Bollhagen’s larger designs. The defining feature is the bulbous body with its domed lid. The side handle and the opposite, raised spout with its drip-proof tip skillfully round out the design. One thing is certain: whether jasmine, matcha, or oolong, tea from the 503 teapot tastes like something out of One Thousand and One Nights.
