Hedwig Bollhagen’s sugar bowl, model number “558,” captivates with its timeless yet functional design. This two-piece set, consisting of a container and a lid, embodies Hedwig Bollhagen’s philosophy: Beauty is what works. Characteristic features include the straight-lined, cylindrical body and the mushroom-shaped knob attached to the flat lid. The artist chose not to include handles on the sugar container. With a diameter of eight centimeters, the six-centimeter-tall vessel is almost as tall as it is wide. With a capacity of 0.2 liters, however, this sugar bowl is among the smaller items in Hedwig Bollhagen’s collection.
