Bowl HB 198B

The bowl with the model number “198B large” by Hedwig Bollhagen is known as the “orange bowl” at the Marwitz Ceramics Manufactory. Together with its smaller counterpart, the 198A, it forms an elegant set. Characteristic features include the oval, cylindrical foot that rises about two centimeters upward and the equally oval bowl, 20 centimeters wide, which curves slightly upward toward the edges. Its simple concave-convex shape lends it an elegant lightness. Its simplicity makes it versatile. Its flat base is equally well-suited for stylishly presenting fruit as well as cold cuts such as mozzarella, ham, cheese, or even salads. However, its elegant form elevates it above any specific task and makes its surroundings a special experience even when used on its own.
