Hedwig Bollhagen’s plate, model number “537,” also makes a great mini-tray. Its rectangular shape is a defining feature. Measuring 19 centimeters long and 10 centimeters wide, this tray is certainly on the smaller side of the collection. However, as a serving platter for tapas, a tray for passing around vinegar and oil bottles, or a ceramic base for a gift basket, this ceramic plate really shines. Weighing just 220 grams and standing two centimeters tall, the plate by designer Heidi Manthey exudes more than a touch of nostalgia. Beauty doesn’t have to exclude functionality.
