Hedwig Bollhagen’s cream pitcher, model number “504,” exudes a distinct sense of nostalgia on the coffee table. Its defining feature is the bulbous, spherical body that tapers upward in a conical shape. The slightly upward-sloping, not quite semicircular, attached handle and the diametrically opposite, slightly outward-curving, drip-proof spout blend harmoniously into the unadorned design. With a diameter of nine centimeters, the seven-centimeter-tall vessel is almost as tall as it is wide. And one thing is certain: with a capacity of 0.2 liters, this 180-gram cream pitcher is already among the larger pieces in Hedwig Bollhagen’s ceramic collection.
