Hedwig Bollhagen’s stemmed cup, model number “597,” might bring to mind a royal drinking goblet from the Middle Ages; others would likely associate this cup more with an egg cup. Its defining feature is the chalice-shaped, raised body with a round, conical foot. With a diameter of eight centimeters, the twelve-centimeter-tall footed cup is taller than it is wide. And with a capacity of 0.2 liters, the 200-gram footed cup by designer Heidi Manthey is neither too large nor too small. One thing is certain: in Hedwig Bollhagen’s footed cup, juices of all kinds can be served in an almost aristocratic manner.
