The Hedwig Bollhagen Museum was opened in July 2015 in Velten. Set on approximately 300 square metres of exhibition space are 400 pieces of a 1,600-object strong collection owned by the Deutschen Stiftung Denkmalschutz, the German foundation for monument protection. Myriad treasures on view include a vase that won a gold medal at the Paris World Fair in 1937 and a number of Bollhagen’s original sample specimens. Works by students and artist friends like Charles Crodel or Bauhaus-adherents Theodor Bogler and Werner Burri are on display on a separate permanent exhibition.
